Some Examples of How We Make Great Repairs

When it comes to making quality repairs it is all about the details. Here are a few examples of paying attention to the details.

How We Replace a Head

Job number one when replacing a head is to make sure it is flush with the grade or ever so slightly below. This will keep it from taking hits from pedestrians, mowers, etc. It is also important that it is not too close to the edge so it doesn't get taken out by an edger. We also try to preserve your grass and make it hard to tell that we were ever there.

How Other Companies May Replace a Head

A head installed even slightly above grade is guaranteed to give you trouble sooner or later. It will get mowed by a mower, knocked of by someone tripping on it or at a minimum end up tilted to one direction or another. Many companies are not careful about this. It is okay for them though because they will get to come out and fix it again in a year or two.

How We Repair Valves

Sprinkler Valves are fairly cheap at around $25 and can last 20+ years. If we are replacing any of the parts on your valve we are just going to completely replace all of the parts, not just the one giving you trouble at the moment. That way you should have a like new valve that will last for many years to come.

How Many Other Companies Repair Valves

I little bit of time and money can be saved by just replacing the solenoid or just the diaphragm. In this case the repair will likely last a few years, but it is destined to fail when the other old parts reach the end of their life as well. This will mean two repair bills instead of one.

How We Fix Your Wiring

If we are in one of your valve boxes dealing with the wiring for your valve we will do three things: We will thoroughly clean the wires to get the best possible connection. We will try to eliminate any other old connections that will be prone to fail in the near future. We will used silicone filled waterproof connectors.

How Other Companies May Fix Your Wiring

Most companies will use waterproof connectors, but the best connection will be useless if other old, sub-par connections are in the same circuit. Other companies may not take the time to eliminate the weak links which may have them paying you another visit sooner than you would like.

How We Install Controllers

We will install your controller nice and level and use all of the installation screws that come with it so that it will remain firmly attached to your wall for a long, long time.

How They May Install Your Controller

We run into controllers dangling off of walls all the time. Many times it is just because whoever installed it just used two screws instead of the three that came with the controller. That will work for a few months, but not for years.

How We Replace Your Backflow Assembly

If it comes down to replacing you backflow assembly here is where we can shine. We will give you a super deep well for water and silt to settle into so it does not cover your backflow assembly. We will also seal the openings so as to not let dirt work it's way in. One other important item is the lead free assembly with stainless steel handles.

How They May Replace Your Backflow Assembly

The biggest enemy of the backflow assembly is the moisture that resides in its box. That is why stainless steel handles and a deep well are important. A valve covered in silt is constantly wet and its handles will rust away in no time. Many companies  do installations without deep wells for drainage and utilize backflow assemblies without stainless steel handles. Once the handles rust away it is impossible to test. That may mean getting to pay for this expensive job twice.

How We Treat Your Lawn

We know that you value your lawn and work hard to keep it looking good. We will do our best to preserve your grass and replace it back where it was when we get done with our repair. It is our goal to make it hard for you to tell that we were even there.

How They May Treat Your Lawn

Some companies will probably take care of your grass to some degree, but some will not even think of it. If they are not careful your beautiful grass could have bare spots for some time to come.
